If it weren’t for the Jets, the Giants would be right there as the worst team in the NFL so far this season. Both teams that play at MetLife Stadium hold the title of being the worst teams in the league. The Giants were a disaster Sunday, losing 36-9 to the 49ers’ B-team, featuring backups all over the field on both sides of the football, including at quarterback. To break down the latest Giants loss, we bring you a brand new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Paul Schwartz and two-time Super Bowl champion Lawrence Tynes.
Before handing it off to the guys, I go off on a rant, venting the frustrations Giants fans are feeling right now after this 0-3 start. Daniel Jones has been a turnover machine so far in his career, the Giants defense made backup QB Nick Mullens look like Joe Montana out there and the defense pulled a never-before-seen facemask penalty on a botched extra point. Schwartz and Tynes then take it away as they get into all the backups the 49ers were starting and how the Giants had no business playing that badly against them. They talk about Joe Judge taking 45 minutes to get on Zoom with media after the game, the game plan being terrible and the defense being on the field for so long. Can the Giants actually go 0-16? Do they need to address the offensive line? Tynes then makes a good point that nobody in that locker room knows how to win football games as most of them have only known losing in a Giants uniform. Should there be concerns about Jones? Is he the bona-fide franchise QB for the Giants for the next decade? Tynes also believes they should trade Golden Tate.
There’s a lot of honest discussion about the state of Big Blue to get into. Catch it all on the latest “Blue Rush” podcast below!
