Best Buy‘s competing Amazon Prime Day 2020 is delivering huge savings on big-screen TVs, tablets, and vacuums. Like Amazon’s big sale, Best Buy’s shopping event ends today, October 14

Best Buy is calling its competing sale a “Black Friday” event, which may be confusing seeing as Black Friday is usually in November around Thanksgiving. The electronics retailers decided to have it early this year “to help shoppers start their shopping season early — and safely.” Best Buy promises that customers will be able to shop safely with contactless curbside pickup plus new in-store safety guidelines.

Like we’ve done in years past, we’ve gathered the best deals currently available during the sale. Highlights include a Dyson V10 Animal Pro for $400, and deep discounts on a Turtle Beach Recon 200 headset and several Samsung and Sony TVs.

Additionally, several retailers, including Walmart and Target, are having their own sales. Learn more about competing sales from Target, Walmart, and other major retailers here.

Best Buy’s sale, like Amazon’s, runs from October 13 to 14. Historically, Best Buy’s Black Friday sales event occurs directly after Thanksgiving Day, so this sale is much earlier than usual.

Earlier this year, Best Buy announced that it would be one of several companies that would close stores during Thanksgiving and claimed that it would offer holiday deals earlier to accommodate for its closure.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether the deals we see on October 13 and 14 will represent the entirety of Best Buy’s Black Friday sale.

Shoppers can visit Best Buy locations to take advantage of these early Black Friday deals — a stark contrast to Amazon’s online-only approach. The retailer is also rolling out new safety protocols for shopping in stores, including requiring customers and employees to wear face masks and limiting the number of visitors.

Additionally, Best Buy offers contactless curbside pickup, store pickup, in addition to same-day and next-day delivery options.

There is one big benefit to shopping Best Buy over Amazon: its lower price guarantee. Best Buy says that if any qualifying item purchased during Best Buy’s competing sale sees a lower price before November 28, the day after Black Friday, Best Buy will refund the difference.

Purchases made from Best Buy within the holiday time frame come with a much larger return window than the usual 15-day limit the store typically offers. Purchases made between October 13 and January 2, 2021, can be returned through January 16, 2021. However, Amazon’s return policy trumps this by a few weeks. On Amazon, purchases made during the same time period can be returned until January 31, 2021.

Best Buy will also match many of the discounts offered by Amazon, Target, and Walmart on top brands like Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, and more.
